595 House Poetry Project- (aspen)

(aspen)

Grass to gravel
Green to grey-black
Fading to the beginning

They stood and covered me

Like sticks
With fingers
And eyes
Blink and rustle
 (their goodbye)

And promise to keep our bones,
wood, stones ,
and sediment.

Searched for in floors
Closets,
Small attic doors.

Found in fuzzy contrast
between the our lenses
and worn skin.
